Packing for 6

So we are going on a trip and packing for six was a big challenge. WE are excited to go visit Auntie Barbie and crew.

baby A is now six months old! Wow. That went by way too fast. He is such a happy boy and wouldn't my luck be that as soon as we are on a "schedule" we are going on a trip. So much for that. When we come back we begin training again. He weighed 15 1/2 pounds and is 26 inches long. We also discussed acid reflux. Maybe that will help his crankiness as the day wears on.

Well we are off. I'll post more about our trip later!

PS Hubby gets to go to Priesthood Session I am sorta jealous that We can't go to a session together.

I Let Him Cry it Out

So last week was very hard for me and my new bundle. He cried A LOT! Cried when I put him down, cried when I held him.. just cried! I even took him for a drive at 10:00 at night to get him to go to sleep after trying for 30 minutes! So last night I cried. What am I going to do on Monday without my Dear Hubby to help hold crying baby?

Well Dear Hubby said "Let him cry."

But he's my baby and I can't.

Well I did.

I got him to sleep put him down and within 15 minutes he was awake. I laid him back down, put his blanket on and gave him his pacifier. I left the room.

No crying. Could it be he actually just went back to bed?

No such luck. Crying and screaming began after 5 minutes. He cried for 20 and then slept for 2 hours! A record for him. Wow! Maybe I should let him cry it out more often. He woke up happy and didn't fuss so much the rest of the night.

He is my fourth baby. I should know what to do. But with him he is just so different then the rest.

As I write he just slipped off to dreamland in his Daddy's arms and for me it is bounce, sing, walk, bounce, take a walk, take a drive, cry it out, then he sleeps.

New Month, New Resolve!

So I am still new at blogging. I think I am missing some functions though. Like changing the font and changing the size of my font and such. But That is fine. I can still write and post pictures!

So now that March is here I have a new resolve to be more organized. Can you believe it ME more organized!! This from the girl after living here for 2 days knew exactly where to find child #1's birth certificate and immunization card to register him at school! But with 4 kiddos and now staying home instead of filling the minds of fun Kindergarteners all day, I need to manage my time and days better.So I have been following my sister in laws blog - justorganizeyourself.blogspot.com. She has wonderful practical ideas for cleaning and maintaing the cleanliness.
So Last night I wrote out my MIT's Most important tasks:
1. Scriptures
2. Prayers
3. Exercise
4. Dinner
These are the things I HAVE to get done. If I get these 4 things done I can't beat myself up that nothing else got done.

I also wrote out my MM's: Minimum Maintenance (minimum things that have to get done to keep it smooth among the Madness)
They include: Quick Tidy Rooms, quick clean the kitchen, laundry, etc. My children are included in some of these as their daily chores. We even wrote out our daily routines. :)
Now the Trick: Start doing it!

What did I do Today?

So my sweet littlest one has a double ear infections. So needless to say not sleep going on here for the past three nights/ days. He just wants to be held. But today he took a long nap - 2 hours. That is long for him even when he is feeling well. So I thought what can I get done?

Well I got 2 loads of laundry done, my kitchen cleaned and the counter/bar cleared off. Bills paid inventory of food in the freezer and once he awoke I managed to get homework with kids finished, a story read to rascal #3, snacks for kids after school, read a few blogs, have a child practice the piano and read a few blogs. Also got some shredding done. But now as I write baby A is awake from his very short PM nap and crying. So I must go.

I just told myself I need to reflect each day on all that DID get DONE and not reflect on what is still left to do.

Baby A is Growing

He is growing so fast. I can hardly believe that he has been in our lives for 4.5 months. He doesn't like be held and rocked to sleep too much anymore. Now he likes his pacifier, wrap him up in a blanket and put him in his car seat and off to dreamland he goes (rather quickly). He has begun eating cereal just a little for dinner. He Loves it! Still not sleeping all night. But someday he will. Likes to watch what everyone is doing. Smiles like crazy and loves me like crazy.

January Birthday Number 3

Sweet little man. He celebrated with a special dinner of Hot Dogs and Chips (his request). Then presents and cake and ice cream. He had a wonderful time opening up all his loot.
